Hey everyone. I just wanted to ask what is the average time that CIC requests the principal applicant's passport? I mean I know it can be random, but I am just curios to know how many months you guys waited before a PPR. I also read that VOs now ask for PP early to avoid delays.

it depends on the visa office and whether the applicant is visa exempt or requires a visa. for those requiring visas, the request can come early in the process or right before/after approval. for visa exempt applicants, it either comes at the end of the process or not at all. so you see, we need more information to give you a more accurate answer, since it varies drastically. OR better still, find the thread specific to your visa office to see what the current "trend" is.
