I was wondering how do you receive your passport request?

Phone? E-mail?? or Letter?

I applied outland, but currentl stay with my husband in Canada.

My mailing address is in Canada, too!

I got an email from a very cryptic looking address. I almost tossed it in my junk mail before I realized what it was. I think Buffalo used email only because I emailed a change of address request (I stayed in Canada but applied outland too) during processing. Otherwise, I think contact is made by postal mail.

Thank you AllisonVSC!!

I am waiting Passport request right now, but some receive by e-mail and letter. I don't think it will be phone, especially when it is outland case&who lives in Canada.

Thank you for your reply:)

I think it depends entirely on your visa office. The majority of PP requests are by postal mail. My husband got 2 PP requests -- one was by postal mail and one was requested by phone. This was the New Delhi CHC.

My husband and I are going through delhi also. Is it usual for them to request PP by phone and mail? what is your timeline Ariell if you dont mind sharing, I would appreciate it. :) My husband had moved so we faxed the new address to them. Of course they dont let you know that they have put it in your file, so we are a bit nervous.

Any request made by immigration may come in the form of email but they will send a letter to back it up just he letter takes longer to get to you.Its their way of speeding up things so keep your eyes on your email and mail.
Check your inbox and junk closely before you erase.

Not, it's not typical for them to request PP by phone and mail. This was 2 separate PP requests. The first PPR was by postal mail. But there was a (corrected) typo on my husband's original police clearance certificate so they returned his PP and requested a 2nd police clearance. Once that was submitted he got the 2nd PPR by phone. Our timeline is below. Good luck to you.

September 18/08 - Mailed application to CPC, Mississauga (received the next day)
October 22/08 - Sponsorship approved!
November 7/08 - File began processing at New Delhi CHC
November 27/08 - Passport request received
December 8/08 - Passport submitted to New Delhi CHC
December 24/08 - Passport returned with request for 2nd police certificate :-( There was an error on the original. Not a very nice Christmas present. :-(
January 5/09 - 2nd Police certificate submitted
February 3/09 - Passport request (by phone)
February 5/09 - Passport submitted to CHC
February 21/09 - RECEIVED VISA!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!! :D

thanks so much for your timeline :) We have been going through this for so long that its beginning to feel strangely normal lol
