Hi I'm starting this thread because some may come across the following problem when submitting their passports for visa stamping;

I've come across a PPR format from London VO someone shared on this forum. In the letter, the instruction clearly states that,

1. The surname (last name) of the passport-holder must be clearly printed on the Surname line of the bio-page of each
passport, and should match the information provided by you on your Updated Information Chart.

2. The given name (first name) of the passport-holder must be clearly printed on the Given Name line of the bio- page
of each passport, and should match the information provided by you on your Updated Information Chart.

But on my spouse's passport, both the first & last names are on the given name line. (i.e. the surname line is blank). We've noticed it only now :). And I know it's strange. But when we attended the medicals, the doctor corrected it to First & Second names on the medical forms.

[size=10pt]Will it create a problem & what are the chances that they will not issue the visa...?
Should I go for a new passport correcting this..? If so, is it ok to submit a new passport which is not on their records...?

The same thing happened with my spouse.Her passport was renewed and in that they had mentioned no surname and in given name whole name is mentioned.CIC follows exactly what is in the passport.Since medicals were issued in the same way as passport I suppose visa will come in the same way.Mine is NYVO
