I received my OPR. They say my passport must be valid for the duration of your expected length of stay in Canada. But mine expires one year before that (my course is 3 years). Is that a problem.

No it's not a problem, but they will only issue your SP for the validity of your passport. Which means you'll need to apply for a SP extension after you renew your passport in a couple of years.
You're going to run into a problem eventually. You need to figure out how you will renew your passport when you need to extend your study permit.
