Passport Drop-off/ Visa Pick-up at the VAC in Algiers, ALGERIA

Does anyone have experience with this VAC?
If we hand-deliver the passport in Algiers, how long does it take to get the visa put into it?
We did get the instructions, but they are in French.
We're trying to book his flight for as soon as possible!

Any help or insight would be great.

Should get the visa within same day. We know of a couple who got it same day he went.

I am pretty sure that is still how they work. You could always copy and paste the letter (publically or privately) he received in French and I could translate it for you.

It's mostly this line that we can't figure out:

Déposer le(s) passeport(s) au CRDV et le retirer dans un délai de 5 jours ouvrables.


Is it "in 5 days" or "within 5 days" or something else?

Never mind.
It's "within 5 days."

They (the VAC) are mailing the passport to Paris and then they'll email when it comes back.
They said they had no idea how long it would take.
We were hoping to have him home Thursday, but we will have to wait until next week to be on the safe side and allow the full 5 days for pick up.

Maybe the people who received it the same day were just picking it up after mailing in their passport?
Either way, inshallah he will be home this month.
