This query is for a friend of mine who has received an ITA this year. He would be immigrating to Canada somewhere in August - September this year and is the primary applicant. He is yet to accept the ITA and upload all the documents.
Now, I came to know that her spouse's passport is expiring in Feb 2018. I have also heard that one cannot travel abroad six months before the expiry date of the passport. Is this true?
If that is the case, what options does her spouse has?
-If she issues a new passport after submitting an ITA, how things will unfold? She needs to mention this in the LOE? And which passport details she is required to furnish?
-If by chance the processing of her PR visa is quick and if they are able to travel somewhere in August 2017 (six months before the expiry), then she can reissue a new passport from Indian Embassy in Canada?
I would be grateful if anyone can throw some light on it. This is so confusing.
