I think that was applicable to VOs which can not handle an application in one year, in Paris VO, they are fast enough to complete visa procedure within 7-8 months.

Maybe for them no need to loose extra time with another turn of files for MRs and payments. Now my application is ready when checks completed, they will ask for the passport.
That doesn't make sense. Getting the applicants to do a medical check up and pay for the RPRF without being sure that they are eligible for PR in terms of background check up is unbelievable! It seems to me that MR is pretty much the final step before passport request and if that took long, it's only because they are working on other applications that require immediate action (e.g. applications with job offer) ..
Anyway I understand all this is just speculation and I hope everything will be fine for everyone

Withinin two weeks after you completed Medical Check, you will have second line update with "MR Received", then later someday that 2nd line will become "we start process" and 3rd will be "MR Received".
So, according to what you written I assume that having no update in ECAS for 160 days is normal practise? Did I understand u correctly?

My process started 1 month after MR and RPRF. I am sure they are asking everything before completion of background checks. And they do not have to be sure on your eligibility, you are the one claiming you are eligible.

total duration may change, but it is common for everybody that you will see Ecas update for Medical within 2 weeks after you have completed. What is not common: Medicals appears before Process Start on ECAS screen for Paris applicants.

Thank you. I clearly understand your point with regards to Medicals but there were the whole bunch of actions performed prior to Medicals such as transfer of application from Ankara to Paris, RPRF and so on. What about them? Is it normal practise not reflect them via ECAS?

there are three updates on Ecas prior to "decision made":

1. We received your application
2. We started process your application
3. We received your MR

nothing more. the first one is the start, the 2nd one is when the visa officer starts to process your application, the third one is when they receive your MR. dont wait to much info from Ecas. But these stages together with mails and other applicants Ecas status give some ideas about your status of application.

For example you are in 1st. It does not mean nothing happened: You received PER mail, it means you are eligible according to CIC, then you received MR and RPRF from Paris office which means CIC forwarded your application to Paris Visa Office and your files found ok and complete (or incomplete and ask additional papers) by Paris Visa Officer. In other offices MR means "you clear all steps you will receive decision soon" but not in Paris! ok. Then after MR you will see 2.nd update on your ECAS " we recived your MR" which will mean "you are fit enough for Canada", then you will have process start update which is telling senior officer starting your case (actually it is according to some people in this forum and makes sense to me). Then you will start to wait passport request mail or another update on ECAS "decision made" that's it.

It is normal: I think Ecas is not daily updated. I got process started update on 18th of April on ECAS (I am sure I was checking daily!) It is saying that process started on 15th of April. I guess you will see that update on Ecas in a few days..

Now it is clear. I am wondering how people find out about transfer of case from juniour officer to seniour?

As I see the most important time in processing of application by Paris VO starts after MR received. In fact I was relaxed thinking that all clearance had already gone.

It is an assumption: somebody clicks on a button of "process start". But it cant be the one who is sending mails, he/she already started the case, another person must be authorized to click that button :).

How u know that? :) The officer who started mailing you cannot be the one who can press the button "process start"? :)

Of course it can be the same officer. Nobody knows what is going on inside the office. But: even it is the same guy, he is sitting on the desk for your application in the second turn for another purpose, another task, another level.. etc. which makes him "virtually" another person with a higher level. :)

Since you are very well-informed about Paris VO can you plz advise what additional docs can be requested by them at verification stage?

I dont know. They did not ask any additional docs from me yet and I dont think they need additional docs, I am hoping everything is clear in our applications :). We will see...

What I saw here or there in Spreadsheets detailed CVs, new passports, military exemption card, bank account details etc. are being requested.

Recent Required documents have made me really upset ..

some applicants, while they're waitin' for PPR, were asked to send additional proofs IN just 30 days, !! long after MR !
they were asked to prove they have been working in their NOCs!

I don't really get why officers didnt accept those first reference letters & related documents !
why just after 4 long waiting months!
after paying for rprf-medical !
