hello Jason. The super visa is much harder because you need to have at least minimum $100,000 for the insurance. It is very expensive. Look at this...

I applied for my mom the single entry first. It took only 11 days for her to be approved. After that I would let her apply the multiple..

The BestQuote website is a good starting point for a little research into insurance costs, as the referral above mentions: you can see the most recent version of their 'rates' page by visiting their site: http://www.bestquotetravelinsurance.ca/super-visa-insurance-bestquote-rates

They've got some general info on purchasing appropriate coverage (you can get an instant free quote from a wide range of companies on any of these pages): http://www.bestquotetravelinsurance.ca/parent-and-grandparent-super-visa-health-insurance as well as links from this page straight to the proper government web pages concerning requirements.

And, info on coverage for 'illnesses related to pre-existing medical conditions' (no insurance comapny covers foreseeable expenses rlated to a pre-existing medical condition): http://www.bestquotetravelinsurance.ca/visitors-to-canada-insurance-compare-pre-existing-medical-conditions-stable-period

Great thread.

To me, to get an regular visitor visa is not easy.

Is easier to get a SUPER VISA (multiple-entry), the insurance is not mandatory if your parents will visit you for less than 6 months.
*You must meet the LOW INCOME CUT-OFF
FOR EXAMPLE: If your Family size is 4 persons (you, your wife and yours parents) ......... the LICO (low income cut-off) must be $41.307

*Invitation letter es mandatory.

Visiting Canada: Parent and Grandparent Super Visa — How to apply:

In order to obtain a Parent or Grandparent Super Visa, you also need to provide:
•Evidence of the parent or grandparent relationship to the Canadian citizen or permanent resident you wish to visit (e.g., birth certificate, baptismal certificate or other official document naming you as parent);
•A letter of invitation from your child or grandchild that includes arrangements for care and support and indicates the number of people residing in their household in Canada (mandatory);
•Proof from your child or grandchild that he or she meets the Low Income Cut-Off (LICO); and
•Proof that you have private medical insurance valid for a minimum of one year from a Canadian insurance company and that: ◦Covers health care, hospitalization and repatriation;
◦Provides a minimum coverage of $100,000; and
◦is valid for each entry to Canada and available for review by a port of entry officer.

Note: You will be required to undergo an immigration medical examination in order to come to Canada. Instructions on completing the examination will be provided to you by the visa office. You are not required to complete the examination before you submit your application forms.[/color]
i wanted to know income requirement of sponsor? what annual income makes the immigration officer happy with the application n approve it?

Yes, absolutely!
If the parents are only staying for 6 months, then the insurance can be stopped once they leave and you could get the remaining money back (assuming there were no claims) but the insurance has to be bought if they are coming on a Super Visa. Even if they will be staying only for one month.
