hi everybody, sorry that I'm creating a new topic but I'm to impatient to scroll through the sites! Question, can my parents live with me while the application is in process?? They're from Germany. Processing time according to the website is more than 5 years !!! Come on I couldn't believe it when I read that.
Is the super visa different than the pr thing?

Btw they're pretty wealthy so I wonder if that could speed up things?

Thanks

No - the fact they are wealth won't speed things up. All applications are treated equally.

Yes - they can apply for the super visa. The super visa will allow them to remain in Canada as visitors for an extended period of time (2 years). As visitors they will not be able to work and won't be covered by the Canadian health care system (they will have to purchase private insurance).

One more question, ok once they get their super visa and stay here for 2 years what happens next, they can't go back home. We still would have to wait 3 years for pr. What's the point of this super visa??? Would we have to reapply for the super visa?? Please need some help with this I'm super confused

They can apply for an extension - but there's never a guarantee of approval and it's possible they may have to return home.

A super visa does not allow your parents to move to Canada permanently - it just allows them to visit for an extended period of time.

They won't be able to move to Canada permanently until they have PR. They will need to plan accordingly.

hi Scylla
our visa office is new delhi and they granted super visa until the expiry date of your passport. parents who came into Canada on super visa, they can stay here continuously for two years and after they can go back their country for a while like vacation and then they can come back. make sure when you apply for super visa, your parents will have enough time remain in expiry date, so they can get visa until that and you do not need to apply again but you have to buy private insurance every year, until they are in Canada. you can also get information regarding super visa on CIC website.

So ya this is what I understood by reading the cic website. Damn it doesn't make any sense for them to apply for the super visa, what's the point of breaking off all the ties and then return back to what??? I guess they'll have to wait it out. Thanks guys

Few options

First apply for their passport if expiring within year or so
Then apply for super visa.
Super visa they can get upto 10 year. Ur role is important as ur income proof is reqd. With super visa they can stay for 2 years in row.

If u qualify to apply for parent sponsorship. Apply in jan 2016. It will take 3 to 5 years

Else also can look for investor programs of various provinces which ur father can apply as applicant

exactly. They can stay up to 2 years. But they do not have to stay so long.
This visa is for parents to visit their kids and grandkids and stay longer than a general visitor visa will allow them to.
This is very useful for countries that are not visa exempted.

Your parents' PR sponsorship won't be affected by this visa. It's still taking 3 - 5 years and the quota reached quickly in 2015. 2016 quota may reach within the first day.

Good luck.
