I just reading the thread here... those sponsoring thier parents or granparents, just always keep patient, I know it's pain on the ASS while waiting for the result of our application.
For those waiting a result from CIC-Mississauga it takes about 4 years before it finalized our sponsorhip, then once it approved your application then it will be forwarded to Visa office in your home country but on same time you will recieve a letter from CIC-M about the desicion of your sponsorship including the kits. This kits must be forwarded to your parents and guidelines what docs, form etc.. to provide before it will submit to Canadian Emmbassy - VO, then it must be done with-in 60 days upon the reciept of the approval letter recieved by the Canadian/Permanent Sponsor.

Another waiting time and this is also very stressful to everyone.
On this stage, you have to wait for the VO to complete the process for PR application for our parents and it takes about 2 to 3 years to be completed (it depends on your country of residence, some country have to wait for 18 months and some are 52 months).
For my case: File submitted at V.O - Manila Dec.16, 2009 - Acknowlegement letter received Jan 21, 2010 then on Dec 13, 2011 recieved a letter containing medical form, PPR, updated police clearance and other forms. All of these must comply within 60 days and it says, all the docs and passport will be submitted after the medical is done. My mom did the medical test on Feb 06, 2013 and on the same date submitted the requested docs and passport. Now waiting for result and VO advice......
