i think it depends on the officer who review your file,peoples who send passport and medical after you got visas

hi i too have same time line........i applied in Dec 2007 and passport submitted in first week of Nov 2012, so pls keep informed as to when you get PP back with Visas

Apologies for this belated update. My parents received their CoPR November 20. It was issued by Seattle as they in Canada visiting. It took approximately 4 weeks from CIC requesting copies of their passport to issue the CoPR.
My parents completed the process by travelling over the border ("flagpoling") on December 21.
Could someone update the spreadsheet?

It depends on the country of origin. For countries whose citizens do not require visa to enter Canada they ask for copies only for others who require visa to enter Canada they ask for actual Passport
