Hello Everyone,

I received a request to submit passport, medical and few forms from ND LVO on Nov 8th 2012.

I have sponsored my brother as a dependent child with my parents. When I submitted the forms to Mississauga office, in form IMM008 there was a question for type of dependent A or B. I wrote type of dependent is B and submitted all supporting educational documents for him. After submitting the documents I realized he should be type A dependent as he was only 20 years old at the time of sponsorship.

Now there is request to send IMM008 again from ND, I am confused, Shall I select him as type A or Type B dependent as in the letter from ND its clearly written to submit supporting educational documents only if the dependent was 22 years or old at the time of sponsorship!!!

Anyone pleases advice, what should I do?

I am all confused now, just want to provide the information so it doesn't delay the processing of their sponsorship and doesn't create any problem.

Hi pimigration when we sent documents to missisauga i selected type A cuz my brother was only 17 but i sent all supported college certificates etc at the very end of all other forms with a note," if you have any concerns about my brother's education i m sending you his school and college certificates cuz he is studying continuesly"
Pimigration i know we dont have to keep our brothers in school since they were under 22 when we applied but you never know.this is what i will do again when ND LVO ask me for medical and documents. CIC is very unpredictable..... I would suggest to do the same like select type A this time and send them documents+ certificates.

Here is the post by jatt going canada he is a dependant as well under22 at the time of sponsorship...he posted this in may 2012.
They do need to attend school after 22..
in my case and many other people i know they asked for educational docs..wheather or not the dependent was over or not over 22 at time of application.. can show u the letter if u want...
full time educational records prove that the person accompanying is "dependent" on parents

Not sure about in Canada, but in US it was 400 US dollars per person. I would guess in Canada it will be approx the same.

Hi all,

I am sposoring my parents and my file is in New York, NY. Meds were sent over 3 months ago and noe reply yet. I was wondering if anyone has experience with NY CPC and knows what is the approximate processing time after receiving meds.

Please help...My parents are here in Canada on a visitor visa, but they need to go back home ASAP and they can't go until they get their PR status.

In Canada I recently paid 270 for my dad and 250 for my mom (the doctor charges $20 more if over 70, apparently because 2 more forms had to be complete).
This included doctor's fee for the exam (150 and 130 respectively) and blood test ($45) and chest xray $72 (paid to the lab)
Does not include furtherance of course...

DMP fees may vary but frankly I did not have time to shop around (we just went to the closest one)

Fees do vary considerably, I just paid $175 each for mum and dad, both over 70 , that included all tests and x-rays. In my local area ( Oakville-Burlington) there was a $50 difference between 3 doctors, all within 15-20 kms of each other, the cheapest also happened to be the earliest appointment availability

Hi kandel, the form IM008 that we need to fill is for PR application n I think we need to fill the recent info....because when we sponsorserd one of my sis was under 22 n therefore I checked type A for her but since she is over 22 now, I hav picked type B now.....because to me I think this application is different from sponsorship one.....I filled the forms by reading instruction guide......it clearly says " dependants is 22 years old and is not married" for type A.....soo if dependants is not under 22 at present then we should pick type B.....However, m not sure.....I m almost done with all da forms but now m confuse.....advise accordingly
