medicals for Ottawa is done, now next step is request for PP and then visa stamp, as for LVO medical not even asked.....medical might be asked in couple of MONTHS, and then PP request in couple of MONTHS and then visa stamping in couple of MONTHS!!!!!!!!!just imagine how long the wait will be. cant understand how govt says it wants to reduce back log?
I can completely understand your frustration. But here we are trying to help each other instead of arguing.. Its worth to note that at least some of the applicants have some hope of getting visas (uniting with families) sooner, assuming Ottawa is faster. However, even in Ottawa, after medicals files are waiting for almost 6 months. Asking for medicals does not mean issuing visas. As far as I know, Ottawa office is just helping out LVOs by reducing some load. If files had not transferred to Ottawa, we would all have to wait longer at LVO. At least, we should appreciate this step by CIC.

And another thing, so far no one knows on what basis files gets transferred to Ottawa.

post on Page 316 by Cslave - Sponsorourparents facebook confirms that CPP-ottawa is asking passport. I agree totally unfair for LVO Applicant.

CPP-Ottawa asking for Passports....what for? just to check PP's are valid? My file transferred to ND, so I have to wait, someone applied in mid 2008, in beginning of 2009- file transferred to Ottawa and now PP asked in couple of weeks visa will be issued!!!!! and we have to wait because our files are at LVO's.....all LVO applicants have to unite and raise concern against this way of processing files or else we will have to wait for another couple of years thats for sure

Your wish. I agree too. But better start another thread for that and lets keep this thread for status updates, inquiries, etc.

here we are trying to help each other....the only way to help each other is to unite and sign petition, raise concern against discriminating way of processing files

@raju i think ottawa office can only request PP if the parents are already in canada(on visitor visa or other)
because people cannot send PP from india to canada.mailing passports over border is just not allowed..
ottawa is just trying to cut the backlog for LVO ..
yes there are few people(who are already in canada on visitor) will get lucky. but not many..
so chill man...

Sponsorparents I am so happy for you. :)
This is it - e-cas shows - medical received.
Now it is only the mаттer of time, short one...

That's not big news anymore. Vienna LVO issued passport back in May. Please see Teri's post. Vienna LVO finalized files in two months, way more faster than Ottawa.
Buffalo LVO closed , all files were transferred to Ottawa which slow down the process.

If applicants from Beijing and Singapore complaint, I can understand. These two LVO are Regional Processing Centre (Process files more than two Countries). The quota for these two offices are much less than that of ND LVO. Japan and Malaysia LVO closed, all files were transferred to Singapore LVO. Seoul LVO closed, files were transferred to Beijing.

Is ND LVO only responsible for India?

ND LVO: 1-1.5 year (quota: 6000 per year) Singapore LVO: 3 years (low quota, only 1000 per year).

Yes, thats the fact but we have to consider other things too:
1) This was mentioned in some Chinese forum, where we don't even know the whole story
2) As for Indians, regardless of country - we cannot mail passport so so either this guys parents are US citizens or have shnws they have visa else its very hard to gulp the fact they would simply ask them to mail the passport across the border
3) We have to wait and watch more proceedings

I did not get your question. How did you get your visa? Through family class or skilled worker? I think you're in wrong forum.

Sorry I am 2007 and Singapore Applicant. I am f*?ed up. I have to wait at least two years longer than same time applicant of other LVO. Some 2008 applicant already at the end of process ,some got PP request. Proud slave of the discriminatory system !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
