Hello Forum Members,

I want to share my experience in my mother's case.

Application filed: May 2008
Request to update: November 25, 2011
Information sent: December 2011
AOR received: Stating rejection of the case on the plea of not having sufficient income.
File transferred: Local Visa Office New Delhi
Additional Infor: Sent in March 2012 (Option C and other stubs)
AOR received: Stating eligibility for sponsoring parents
Medicals requested: No
Medicals sent : No

My case was rejected on the plea of not having sufficient income, but it was miscalculation on the part of CPC-M. In February, 2012, we received rejection letter stating that our application has been transferred to New Delhi Visa Office (as there is a option, though the application is rejected, still you want the application to be sent to LVO) It was tagged as yes by us. CPC Mississauga has already sent the file to New Delhi on December 2011 itself, So Option C for 2007, 08, 09, 10 were sent to New Delhi via email and faxed to CPC Mississauga. But in the mid of April received a approval letter from MIssissauga Office stating our approval of sponsorship.

After that on my e-cas the approval status is not updated. It is stating the old letter reference of FEbruary 2012 (rejection letter reference), Anyone can guide. I contacted CPC Mississauga but all in vain, no proper response. I asked as to why the approval letter is ot updated, but they say just keep you copy safe. Nothing else.

I don't know what to do.

Please advise.

i think that e-cas is not a problem if you have an approval letter from Mississauga... does the approval letter say where your file is being forwarded to? is it local office? or Ottawa?

you can order GCMS notes to check what's going on with your case and where is the file...

Further, the OP could also send a copy of the approval letter to the office where the file was transferred and a letter explaining how CIC-M had made the mistake. This is just to ensure that the local office does not process it as a normal PR application but under Family Class (where you are already approved as a sponsor).

Hi there

I applied sponsor applicaton of Feb 2009
received from CPC-mississauga for applicant application so submitted full application with photos and mothers passport copied n feb2012, april2012 i received your eligible as sponsor, and april 2012 received letter application is complete and received.May 2012 file transferrred to delhi with application number startion F000...., so i checked online and i saw the message as Application received with underlined linked, while i click it i saw , ]"We received your application for permanent residence on February 9, 2009" ,so what is this meant, NewDelhi is just looking my first application (sponsor;s eligibility) on Feb 2009?
or they received my mother application in full i paid the fee also on 2009 itself. I confused and while reading others , i saw many of them got medicals with 4 weeks after their application was transferred to LVO's, so
please anyone tell me approximatly where i am now may be just 1 more year only or ........?
please reply or suggestion, because iam very much worried my mother is right now single, no father since 33 years and she is 51 years old. What are her chances.
Thank you

Thanks for your response Shuga, but please let me know in detail, as to how can I order GCMS notes.

secondly, I also read in this thread, if DOB of any parent is not available, we need to attached affidavit from the lawyer stating that she was born in .... year and have .....siblings.

Thirdly, she is a widow, still we need another affidavit showing her marriage or death certificate of my father will serve the purpose. But I don't think so, death certificate has my mother's name on it.

Please advise.

I think it is good, everything is ok, next you will see on your e-cas that you are in process, and after clicking on the underlined text IN PROCESS you will see the first sentence which you are seeing now and another one which will state - We started processing you application for permanent resident on xxxx date.

Since CIC has decided to revamp the process of sponsoring parents, they have stopped accepting new applications and are trying to clear all the backlog. They have also changed the way they are processing the backlog of applications. People who have been approved, can now view their parent's application status (just the way you mentioned). People whose applications have been sent to LVOs - I guess, receive the medicals after 3 months from receiving the AOR from the LVO (you would receive an email or letter from LVO confirming that they have received the PR application). But first you have to wait upto 3 months now, to receive your AOR itself. How long it will take to receive the medicals, get the application processed and the final visas issued is still up in the air. On one hand CIC has stated they would clear all backlog in 2 years on the other, there people who have been asked to submit their ppts (after all the processing was complete) in Dec'11 have still not got their visas.

You would need lots of patience, visit this forum often to see if you are in the same boat as others. As regards chances, if you have been approved as a sponsor it is very unlikely the PR application would be turned down, so don't worry, your mother's chances are very good.

Yes, I am also thinking of the same to send the approval letter to New Delhi VO just to make sure, it is in my file when the Visa Officer reviews the file.

One more doubt I have,

The e-cas shows with my UCI No. : Date of sponsorship application received : December 2011 and Decision made and Date of of Permanent Application received : December 2011. But the application received date is same as December 2011 in both Sponsorship and PR. But my case of sponsorship application was going on way back from May 2008 (Date of my filing the case at CPC M).

Please clarify.

secondly...Thirdly...

The logic behind the documents is: Your mother is applying under the Family Class. She has to prove her identity and her relationship with you. For that, she would need her birth certificate (proving her identity), her marriage certificate (proving your parents had married) and your birth certificate (proving that you are the child and they are your parents) as well as your father's death certificate (showing your mother is a widow).

Frequently, for various reasons, these (or some of these) documents are not available. In their place, CIC accepts sworn affidavits which contain the same details the original documents would have. If you provide an affidavit, you should explain why you could not submit the original document (marriage/birth was not registered etc) and preferably attach other documents (voters card etc) that contains the same details (date of birth, husbands name etc). The sum total is you have to provide either the documents they asked for or the affidavits in its place.

Thanks for updating me, Can we get the affidavits from any lawyer back home.

The status in the e-cas may be the result of the PR application being setup as an independent application (not sponsorship) after your sponsorship was rejected. As such, you would have to call CIC at their call center and ensure that they take steps to rectify it. Most (if not all) of us have the PR application date as the first time when we had applied (at CPC-M).

You are welcome! Contact any lawyer back home, they would know exactly how to draft it and who could sign it (its what they routinely do). Ensure it is in English.

Sakamath I am packing all day, making lists of items, going to dentist, but I steel look at this forum first to see what is new for my virtual friends like you, second to try to help because I know how hard is this process and how difficult it is. :)

Did someone who filed application from January to April 2008 already received aprroval for the sponsorship ? The CIC agent says that it's still in the queue and I do not understand why it takes so long !!! The PR applications sent to CPC-M in December 2011.

Do you know guys if the sponsors from Quebec are in the separate queue ? Also, I filed a CAIPS 2 weeks ago, but did not get the answer from them yet...

Any thoughts ? ::)
