Today my ecas changes to "Application Received" for Sponsorship Application Status, before it was "In Progress" and when i click to see more details I see the names of dependents are added.

I'm not sure what does this mean but I'm happy at least something is changed. :)

your document send date is missing on the spreadsheet?

Wow, interesting! So you do not see Decision maid yet but you see dependents added?
Do you see you parents and brothers/sisters names?
Maybe actually you guys with dependents are more ahead than you think? Maybe they just have some different process for you?

I got sponsorship approval but I do not recall having In Progress status ever...(maybe I did not notice before)
I thought 'In progress' actually comes AFTER 'application received' status but now I am not so sure...

Also, I still do not see my mom's name when I check by file #. ONly my dad's name is showing (he is a principal applicant).

Mine was "In progress" even before they requested additional docs from a year ago and was the same till today.

you know there is "If you want to see the details of an application, click on the underlined status."

when I click on "Application Received" I see all dependents names in the next page.

may be it's because you initially applied in October 2007 - very close to November cut off date... may be they started processing your application - but havent' finished... and a decision was made to change a process - so they stopped processing and asked for additional documents...

Generally, Birth Certificates do not carry a photograph. So you can safely submit it without the photograph. However, this document would not be considered as a Birth Certificate (with or without a photograph) as BCs are usually issued by authorities in the city/region where a person is born. You (your parents) would still have to submit an affidavit towards the same (birth certificate). The document from the embassy could be cited as further evidence that the actual birth dates recorded by the authorities are the same as what your parents say in the affidavit.

hello dear sakamath : in our country we dont have any birth certificate as almost no one has it but the general consulate of my country in canada is going to give me a document like birth certificate in which they write down the name of parents date of birth last name, place of birth and their parents names and at last they write a note like this >>>>> It has not been and remains not to be common in some parts of our country to provide newly born babies with birth certificates. this certification based upon evidences made available by the applicant may therefore be considered as reliable information only for the date of birth of the person identified above
and at last they attest and sign
and dear u said that it has to be local authority to issue but dear my parents dont live in their country of birth too and also when i first applied i also needed birth certificate and mine was also same way as got it from our embassy of country of birth and immigiration didnt ask me anything else
so is this enough then ?
thanksss for ur reply
