Shuga, quick question. When CIC request medical for you parents, did they tell where the medical results should be mailed. Usually, DMPs mail it to the local visa office, but now in our case should they send it to CPC-O?

Called CIC call center today and was told that they are sending letters to Feb 2009 applicants. If any 2009 applicants received document request then pleeasr share.

Applied June 2009. Hopefully in next few months we might receive the request.

Thats good news for 2009 applicants... Get all the paper work ready

there is no direct information in the e-mail about where the medical exam results should be send.

my understanding is that DMP does not mail it to the visa office - they send results to a regional medical office. I think that DMP does not make the final medical decision - they send to a medical office that reviews the results and makes a medical conclusion (M1-M7) and then it is forwarded to the local visa office:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/partner/dmp/exam.asp

DMPs must forward all immigration medical reports to the regional medical office in their area by mail. Do not send immigration medical reports to the visa office processing the applicant’s file. This will only increase the processing time.

Thanks Shuga. That was very helpful. It seems there is a lot process involved.

Thanks to Pari4u and sakamath. My god!! I can't imagine how would i handle the 44 number. What a relief! why didn't i catch up those changes? You guys are so cool. Anyone here received sponsor approval letter and the file was sent to local visa office?? Can you share your timeline? Thanks again.

Hi Happyguy,
Dont worry they finish the
process about 20 to 22 months.
They shaw 44 months 80 % clear the file.

Two of my friend parents got visa with in 18 months (they shaw 40 months at that time)

one friend's file forward in new delhi in june 2010 ..they got visa on dec 2011.
Another friend file forward in new delhi in july 2010...they got visa yesterday(feb 2012).

Thanks

Thanks dildarbar . Another 44 months waiting at local visa office will kill us. We are optimistic as quota increased. My file is just send Singapore, Hope They will move faster, They already have more than 2000 file ahead of me. I call CPC-M and ask why local visa office moving slower than CPP-Ottawa? The Agent told me "Ottawa is just helping to speed up the process." But we are not sure Final processing/visa issue will be based on time you apply or not !!!

18 months is still.... a bit too long. Anyway, is there anybody here receives the sponsor approval letter when sent additional documents in January? I sent them in Jan 18th, still waiting....

Dear Mash, They refused to give me any timeline as to when I will receive the document update letter.
But I have already asked my parents in India to start working on Marriage Certificate and DOB affidavits as advised by various people in this forum.
Will definitely update if I receive anything. But i dont expect it for atleast 4-5 months

Due to a lot of change in the system of processing parent's application, ecas and the automated call center status system do not reflect the correct status. A few people here have even got the email to proceed for Medicals and PCC, yet their status on ecas still states Application Received. To get the most accurate status, call the Call center number (if you live in Canada) and speak to an operator.

As regards proof of relationship with parents, the best proof is your Birth Certificate which should show your name and your parent's names. You would also need your parent's marriage certificate. If you have these two documents, then you need not worry at all. However, in most cases (especially where the parents are old and were married long ago), they may not have marriage certificate. In such a case, your parents would have to go to a lawyer and prepare an affidavit stating that they had married on so-and-so date and had so-and-so children born on so-and-so dates. You would have to submit these documents along with a letter explaining why the Birth Certificates and Marriage Certificates were not provided. In the rare case where the CIC is still not convinced, they may ask you to take a DNA test along with your parents.

any one who send documents in jan 2012 to CPC-M got reply

I recieved the e-mail from CIC - India but I am not able to post copy of CIC letter from India in forum?

does anyone have idea why?

I tried to update my timeline but it shows error all the time as a message

It might be just a temporary issue.. trying again may fix it. Copy the email as a plain text and paste in the forum.
