when did you submit police clearance?How to apply PCC in India?How long it takes place?

The best way to apply for pcc in India is to apply at the passport office where the passport was issued. Formalities are very strict, but the process doesn't take too long. In Mumbai it takes about a month, in NDelhi about a week (or so, I heard). The formalities are - you got to fill out the form2 in duplicate, but make an extra copy, just in case. wow a month?it doesn't take that long in punjab.. i just got forms from my lawyer..they can be downloaded from internet too.. just fill them and attach proofs like birth certificate ,3-4 photos..etc and then i went to local police station..they signed and verified it(rs 800 bribe for 4 pcc ) the next day i went to ssp office..they checked all docs at counter and told me to wait 3-4 days..again i had to pass 100 rs to that guy..then he immediately forwarded my file to ssp..unfortunately ssp was gone ..the next day i got my pcc signed by ssp(yes all members had to be physically present there) in the morning.. so it took me 3 days for pcc.. but mean time i was preparing other docs as well..on fourth day i got medicals done..on 6th day my lawyer checked all docs and sent them via courier..
..bottom line ..in india no officer works faster without bribe..
i usually stand up against bribe but in case like this i thought it would be wiser to just get my work done as fast as possible!

even though cic gives 90 days to submit docs and medicals..its best to send them as fast as possible ..

Did you already submit PCC?I heard Fastest way of getting PCC by commissioner of police compare to passport office.Passport office takes more time like more than one month.

in jan 2011..took them a year to request pp+medicals+updated educational docs..
now waiting for visa ;D

My timeline - Nov 2009 - Sent my parents' application;
Dec 2009 - Acknowledgement letter from CPC Mississauga.

No news yet. Any comments?/

xizheng913 : CIC just started the process for the additional documnets on nov 25 2011 as far as i know they ask the additioal document request till January 2009 sponser, so hope fully the next batch will be yours ;D onece they done the 2007 & 2008 sponser applicant. My advice to you is start colletiong the informations from now as there are lots of complicated informations needed and also you will be fist to send them not end up like me last : below is the link for the forms to fill out by applicant IMM008, IMM 5669, IMM 5406

Some additional documents such as passoprt copy, birth certificate, house registry , national identity documnets, parents marraige certificates, depndent full time study proof also got requested from CIC when they requested this form

Do you have any Idea, how many months valid once we get the PCC?We don't know about When'll CiC ask,Can I apply now?But last letter in November CIC strongly recommended for PCC.

No, I haven't submitted the PCC yet. The Nov 25 letter had just mentioned to apply for the PCC. We started the PCC process last week and hope to submit it along with the medicals when that request arrives.

Do you have any Idea, how many months valid once we get the PCC?

I do not think there is a 'validity' period for a PCC (unlike the Medicals - where you should get your landed status within 12 months of the medicals). CIC however, states that "The (PCC) certificate must have been issued no more than three months before you submit your application."

i think it's valid for 12 months -
from Application for permanent residence instruction guide:

Police certificates are generally valid for 12 months from the date they are issued. However, if a final decision is not made on your application before the expiry of your police certificate, the visa office may request that you provide a new one.
