Ohh no.. 5000 for 2014 mean's they will start taking new applications from 2014 and limit it to 5000 for that year.. It doesnt say that they are going to lower the higher admission rate! The rate i guess would remain the same until the backlog gets cleared!

I think 5000 limit will be set for new applications - when they open the family sponshorship program again at the end of this year or the beginning of 2014.

I actually agree with dependants age factor

me too. according to their way of thinking - the kid of 20+ can easily get a job and support himself/herself, but still I think the kid can be sponsored by the parent who has a PR status in Canada.

new application for parents starting from 2nd jan 2014 with the minimum family income $54000/- if you have children then add on approx 4000 a child extra and only those are eligible for file application who also have same income in 2011,2012 and 2013 and you have to take care for your parents for 20 years(before its 10 years) and no dependent older than 18 years so guys very hard

Normally it's like 4-5 days but let us know the date it was sent and recieved

...that was the point sir, imagine if everyone got together and then visas started coming one by one then there is no one left to protest. So all this petition etc, wouldn't be practical , that too, near strong command like Jason Kenny and the conservatives. I am sure some will protest this new rule which came out today ( which makes sense coz this hasn't implemented yet)
All said and done, this requires lot of patience

Single son/daughter sponsoring parents is avg 35K then X 30% = 45K
Husband/Wife sponsoring parents is avg 42K so X 30% = 54K
Husband/Wife/Child sponsoring parents is avg 49K x 30% = 63K

that is exactly my point, if everyone got together and then visas start coming.....end of waiting game. And this govt / authority didnt get sympathy for our parents and got worried about backlog, during election Jack Layton campaigned for faster processing of parental files and they started getting majority, then this govt realized the gravity of the situation and felt something must be done and then this change came.....understand my friend
