I have a good news to share. My parents e-cas is working since this morning. Today the e-cas status shows 'Decision Made'. Now waiting for PPR. How much time it takes to get the PPR after the change in status on e-cas?

E-cas Update:

We received your application for permanent residence on July 28, 2009.

We started processing your application on January 31, 2013.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

Has anybody done RCMP fingerprints enquiry before?? my mother-in-law's fingerprints were taken at CHC ND in mid nov. so its 12 wks now. RCMP's processing time now (for paper based finger prints) is 18 wks. my questions are:
1) can i inquire about status of her application??
2) Does RCMP respond to the requests even when they are under given timeframe?

Please Suggest.

It takes time, I know someone with parents case did around same time & waiting for update.

Medicals done on Dec4th, still ecas shows no update on medicals received. Just states Application Received June 2008.

Getting paranoid.

Ok as per MP inquiry
Lvo delhi have recieved all the douments and are doing the background cheaks...

My question is what is required in background cheak....as one of our parent was in canada for 10 months on visitor visa in 2008

also 1 more dependent related question...i have read the dependent meaning a few times but still need to confirm 1 thing

IF THE DEPENDENT AGE IS LOCKED (WHEN THEY RECIEVED THE FILE) WHILE WAS UNDER 21 AT THAT POINT HE WAS IN SCHOOL...NOW IF SAME DEPENDENT IS 24 AND HE DOES A FULL TIME JOB(NOT MARRIED)...WILL HE BE STILL CONSIDERED A DEPENDENT OR HE HAS TO CONTINUE STUDY UNTIL HE GETS VISA???

Don't get paranoid:)

My mother did her medicals in April 2012. Last Friday she got a letter asking for more medical checks.
The letter is dated June 29th 2012 but was sent from Ottawa on January 25th 2013.
The 90 days term it is long overdue.

Who is a Dependent Child? This question keeps coming. Here is some more info to answer this question:

From CIC Website:
Dependent children

Dependent children include:
•Your dependent children
•The dependent children of your spouse or common-law partner
•The dependent children of your dependent children

A child must meet the requirements of type A, B or C below to be considered a dependent child:

Type A

He or she was under the age of 22 and single, that is, not married and not in a common-law relationship when you first submitted your application for permanent residence.

Type B

He or she married or entered into a common-law relationship before the age of 22 and, since becoming a spouse or a common-law partner, has
•been continuously enrolled and in attendance as a full-time student in a post-secondary institution accredited by the relevant government authority; and
•depended substantially on the financial support of a parent.

or

He or she is 22 years of age or older and, since before the age of 22, has
•been continuously enrolled and in attendance as a full-time student in a post-secondary institution accredited by the relevant government authority; and
•depended substantially on the financial support of a parent.

Type C

He or she is 22 years of age or older, has depended substantially on the financial support of a parent since before the age of 22 and is unable to provide for himself or herself due to a medical condition
.

MY READ:

TYPE A
- Under 22 years of age and unmarried (at the time application is received by CIC) - must be unmarried until visa is granted

TYPE B

- married before the age of 22 - must be a student until visa is granted and financially dependent on parents since getting married

OR

- 22 Years of age or older (at the time application is received by CIC) - must be a student until visa is granted and financially dependent on parents since before the age of 22

Type C
- 22 years of age or older, has depended substantially on the financial support of a parent since before the age of 22 and is unable to provide for himself or herself due to a medical condition.

ECAS status changed today. It states "we started processing your application on February 7 2013" What does this really mean and how long will it take from this point? Any ideas or thoughts please?

Thanks. The medical and the passport request came at the same time in November 2012. On Jan 15, the ECAS status showed "medical received". The status changed to "in process" on February 7 with the new status as we started processing your application on Feb 7, 2013.
