since I am sure to get meds for my folks - can I do it before hand?
i doubt it... you need the forms to do medicals - they are send by CIC and can not be downloaded from the web site...

I called the Doc and they said, come and do it and we can do the paperwork later if I like, takes 10 days for all to wrap and the use UPS to Ottawa, reaches within 2 days and gives me Tracking too

VOW - I was like good to know but I'll wait till I get the paperwork

I would be happy to help you - we applied twice of the extension of stay for our Mother, but both applications we filed by mail, as the timeline for mail application was longer and this way we could have our Mother longer in Canada in case they would decide to deny, but we were lucky to have her application approved twice.

mail is no issue, but I wanted to try online..I have got it extended 4-5 times in the past but this online has stumped me

I submitted origional proofs of continuos studies and enrollments for dependents in reply to Nov 2011 letter from college. But later my LVO didn't ask for proof of continuous studies as dependent was less then 22.So I just sent reg copies of certificates and degrees.and I also sent origonal affidavit in place of Birth certificates for my parents ,which I didn't send to LVO again .I just mentioned I provided earlier. It was a lot of hassle and will do again ,only if they will require it specifically.
So I saved myself with lot of attestation and affidavit things.
In Delhi I guess they send a form to submit ,right. But if dependent was less then 22 I think you don't need to give any proof of coninuous studies.

Thanks Lucky yeah my brother was 18 when i applied and he is 22 now so i wont have to send his education certificates unless they specifically ask which they do sometimes.

Application submitted before 22 years of age means they do not need any educational status. This is the immigration rule, so whosoever is confused please dnt and carry on what ever you want to do if your case was submitted before you turned 22..

Raju735- I cant thankyou enough for being so generous to provide that letter to us...so nice of you thanks a lott.
but very sad and shocked at the same time...how can they i mean are they really this stupid?
Only thing which was different in our cases from previous 2006-07 (their files stayed at New Delhi for 2-3yrs) was additional document request in november 2011 (which was my only hope for faster processing at new delhi)...I thought we will be asked to deposit medical and passport and within few months tannna visa, but this!!
"sigh" :(

Thanks Rahul but honestly i dont trust cic..... at the end they do what they like select or reject dependants. i cant imagine myself living without my brother here, so its better if he stays in university for now. Cant take risk in this matter.

If they ask for Travel History - my father has 4 passports with 30-40 trips in last 40 years, can't even tell the dates..what they gonna do with that info? provide a customized holiday package before stamping passport

User828 ahhaha you never fail making me laugh with your sarcastic comments in this never ending waitt.

anyone has some info about how long it takes after e-cas starts showing in-process?
i just hope to get there before end of this year :-X

THE GOOD - AT LONG AWAITED- NEW CAME!!!
Much sooner that I expected.

My mom is asked to submit her passport to LVO!!![/b]
1. My ECAs is still IN PROCESS with 3 lines (since End of Aug)
2. The message came by email
3. Specs for photos: as for RP card, not for passport; link here (in French): http://www.cic.gc.ca/francais/information/demandes/guides/5445FTOC.asp#appendiceB
4. She's also reminded not to inquire more on her status, as this will delay more the treatment of her demand
5. Kind of strage: looks like a final decision is not yet taken: "after passport will be received, a final decision will be made, and - if approuved- a COPR form will be sent to you
6. She's also reminded that landing could be done while in Canada, via CIC officer and that we should contact CIC on this.
7. How to send to passport: LVO doesn't impose any courrier company, but insisted that sending is with prepaid return.

I would have two queations:
Point 5 : is it OK? Anybody in same situation?
Point 6: should I call right now or after sending the passport and being able to prove it?

Congratulations!!!!
For Point 5, I think LVO's always make decision after receiving original passport.
For Point 6, I think its your call. I would suggest to wait until you receive COPR.

Congratulations after a very long wait. Which LVO are you at?

Good news!!
I received a phone call from CPP-Ottawa yesterday to say that my parents PR application was now ready for finalization. They wanted to confirm where my parents were (they are currently visiting me in Canada) so they could request copies of their passports to the appropriate visa office for COPR issue. As they are currently in Canada, they will need to send copies of all pages of their passports to Seattle who will issue the COPR. This morning I received the email from CPP-O email address, but with Seattle letterhead, requesting the passport copies be submitted within 30 days and that COPR will be issued within 30 days of receipt.
