Congratulations to all of you whose status changed to 'Decision Made' and 'Medical Received'!
From my experience (a pretty recent one), it took me about 2 months to get medical request.
=)

We applied a whole year before you and it took 11 weeks from file transfer April 18th 2012 to medical request. It demonstrates how it seems to totally depend who gets hold of your file as to how quickly you get processed so who knows who will get their visas first ,certainly not in original order of application as they first suggested.
Good luck to everyone!

All - in desperate need for some guidance. Parents Passports were requested Dec 2011 along with medical request. Medical done and passport sent on January 17, 2012 to CHC New Delhi. It has been over 7 months and no response. Sent CSE, still no response - even tried sending a letter. Not sure where to turn to now. To make matters worse, my mom is Malaysian citizen living in India with PIO and her passport will expire in 6 months - need to renew passport as well. Any guidance/suggestions will be truly appreciated.
i have the same timeline.. we can just .....wait :-\

@ nanapush & user828;

I think the issue is that they do this in batches. They basically put everyone in the same bucket regardless of when they applied. (Sept 2007 to Feb 2009.)
I am part of the second batch, that's why I think my medical request came earlier than yours - as second batch deals with less #.
Also, I wonder it could be based on the country where your parents are, looking at Teri's case. I'm from one of the low-application countries, so it could be why.

Anyhow, there's no doubt that you will get Visa request earlier than mine. =)
Hope everything goes smoothly for us!

Hi all:

Just have a quick question for those who received re-medical.
How long did it take for you from submission of medical to request of re-medical?
Did re-medical also came via email?
I read that many received additional TB test. So, with someone who has history of TB (but now cured) all go through additional test?
Or is it just when x-ray results shows some sign of TB, regardless whether it is cured or not, they are asked to do additional medical?
Lastly, for re-medical, do you also get 30 days to complete?

Thank you for your help!
Regards.

no - in our case they asked for new x-ray done 3 months after the first one + the test that requires 6-8 weeks to complete... can not be done in 30 days...

My parents just went for medical last Friday and they sent the passport along with copy of the DMP's medical completion certficate to LVO today.

I do not seem to understand how some people are asked for their passports and their medicals at the same time.
I have submitted the medicals at the beginning of May and have not heard back from them ever since.
Oh, there is a note stating “medicals received”.
Any insight into this matter?
Thank you!

some LVOs require medicals and passport at same time, but CPP-O does not request passport. it seems like once decision is made CPP-O will provide instructions to send passport to an out-of-cananda visa office for PR visa issue. I'm at the decision made stage and am waiting for instructions. I'll post info once I receive it.

The "medicals received" indicates that the medicals have passed, which is good news...the next step is background and security checks

that's good - means medicals passed

depends on the visa office... some LVOs ask to provide passport at the same time with medicals and then keep them for a long time... some LVOs ask for passport when everything is done and just stamp a visa quickly...

Hello,

I heard that some guys got a request to send medicals again to Ottawa >:(?

How did you guys get this second medical request?

Was it by e-mail (same as the first request for medicals) or by regular mail.

Thank s

Alex
