Good day Muhraiz and congratulations......prepare list of items to be transferred later and get it stamped at AirPort of Landing from customs.... That is what I know.... You may Check from other sources too...

I applied for parents sponsorship in Jan, 2014 and subsequently received an email confirmation in June, 2014. Today I have checked my application status online and found that the CIC started to process my sponsorship application in Dec, 2014.

How long will it take to complete the processing of sponsorship application? Any thought based on your experience. Thanks!

Hello Everybody,

Finally got visa stamps for my parents (ISB-VO), they returned the passports in 3 weeks.

Have a question:

Where we need to inform that we are expecting to transfer money in the future (as parents have property) or other stuff (like furniture etc). I heard that we can inform somewhere and bring it on later date and no taxes will be charge. Anybody knows?

Thanks.

Contact CBSA to ask your questions.

Email: contact@cbsa.gc.ca

Forms B4, and B4a are available on their website, check them accordingly. (CBSA)

Furniture is expensive to transport, why not just purchase it here and get it delivered to your door locally?

Can anybody please advice me on this issue? I received the upfront medical exam request and had emailed Ottawa office about the address to send the upfront medical confirmation sheet and letter. They sent me back a generic email saying that I should send my documents by mail to one of their Ottawa address. It was a PO box address. But I am reading that a lot of applicants have sent their upfront medical through email and they are getting a response back from Ottawa faster. I had sent medical exam in first week of October. I have seen no changes in ecas or any other confirmation

Should I resend the medical confirmation sheet and the letter through email again to Ottawa?

Thanks

Hello Everyone,

I am active member of this forum however I am new to this section of the forum.

I am planning to sponsor my parents (father and mother) under family class.

Could please someone guide me regarding the following:

1. Does the photocopies need to be certified?

2. As I am sponsoring my mother and father both, do i have to fill the forms as mentioned on CIC's website twice (one for my father and one for my mother)?

Please guide.

1. no just photocopies are fine. they do not need to be certified.

2. You will be sponsoring one parent(the principal applicant) and the other will be the accompanying spouse(dependent). You need to decide who you want to make the principal applicant, not that it matters either way. By default the other parent then becomes a dependent of the principal applicant.

I hope my answer to Qu.2 made sense when you read what I wrote.

Take care and good luck with your application.

I am sponsoring my parents however my brother and his wife works together along with my father in his business. Do I need to include my brother and his wife as dependents in any part of the application? By the way, my brother and his wife are 25+ years of age. Please advise.

no they are not dependents. however on the additional family form ( IMM 5645) your parents will mention your brother under the children section.

Parent looking for help

Hi There

I'm a Parent and need your expert comments to see if my Kid can sponsor me and my Wife:

Our son income + his wife income is over the LICO but under LICO+30% (he lives in Windsor, ON)
Our income (Parents Income) is around 60,000 Cads(we are retired in our country), but we don’t know how this can help us.

We have been living in Canada for 13 years as visitors (6 months here, 1 month in our country)

Please advise me what to do.

Thanks
