Hi,

I have sent my additional docs today(17/April/2012).
Is there anyone here who received additional docs request in 2nd round(March 30, 2012) and had already submitted it to CIC-M?

Hi Everyone

I have a question for people who already got their file at the final stages. I applied for sponsirong my mom on June 2009, got request recently from CIC for additional information, back home, English is not native langauge, my mom already got all her papers ready and translated as certified true copies, but the certification itself is in our native langauge (the stamps and everything), is that ok with CIC, or is it mandatory to have each translated document notarized by a notary public here in Canada before submitting the requested documents??? Does anyone had the same situation like mine and submit without being notarized and CIC accepted those translations, the way they are?? Please advise.
Thanks

few of my doc were in my native language but when my dad noterise them in India my father asked the notery perosn to make sure to put the transalations in English language. so for me everything were in English. you should ask the notery person if they can do in english or not.

Hi Pari

I got this info from CIC website instruction guide:

Translation of documents
Any document that is not in English or French must be accompanied by:

•the English or French translation; and
•an affidavit from the person who completed the translation; and
•a certified copy of the original document.

so does that mean that they need also an affidavit in addition to the translation, I thought this is only if you are unable to provide copies of the documents along with the certified true copies ??

I want to ask you something guys, the certified true copy of my birth certificate, I had it done in 1999 before I first came to Canada, and my mother whom I am sponsoring her did all certified true copies for all document requested from her side sometime in 2004 even before we applied to her in 2009. Do you think there is a problem if we are submitting those copies, as my mom is an elderly over 75 years old and living back home by herself, and to ask her to go all through that back home now by herself is a very big hassle for her, do you think CIC will accept those certified true copies or not???

in my opinion you can send them but make sure you explain it in a letter about it like here you did. And also call CIC call center and ask the agent, maybe they give you more valuable comment.

sponsorship submitted Sept. 2008
sponsorship approved Sept. 2010
parents application to embassy in Beijing reveived Dec. 13, 2010
confirmation letter of above application issued Feb. 18, 2011
"start to process the application on Feb. 14, 2012" status "In Process"
now waiting...
Anyone knows how long this "In Process" status would last in Beijing, China?

Woohoo! E-cas changed to "Decision Made". CIC sent a letter on april 13 (Friday the 13th; Vaisakhi day) to notify of decision. CIC said to consider mail delays before contacting them.

I hope its transferred to Ottawa though.

How long it takes for that letter to arrive? (Provided e-mail, but i guess CIC likes regular mail atleast in my case)

I just received the sponsorship approval today, it was dated April 13. My status changed on Sunday April 15 and the date in the letter was the same with the one written in E-cass. Mine is transferred to Ottawa, hope yours too.

1) if any of your documents which are not in English or franch you needs to get them translated in English or french and noterize it. ( this can be done in same page no need other affidevit for it, in my case the notery perosn just translate what was on the orignal documnet and at the end did the signature and stamping saying the documnet is true

2) if you dont have the supporting document or informations then you need the affidevit for it same as noterize , basically a declarations , for example if your mother dont remmber the date of birth of their parents then you can write down in declarations that you dont have the exact date for it and there is no documnet you could find for it so i ts approximate of it, for me we did the declaration for my brother as to prove that he is still dependent on my father as in india all the transaction are in cash and student usually dont have bank account or card like here which you can show that he is finacially dependent on him so in declration we mentioned that he is full time student and all the fees and expensis till now got paid by my father.

really they would send back PCC if you mail them to CPC Mississauga?
i called CIC agent last week asking that my parents already received PCC as in the NOV 2011 letter they told to start getting the PCCs in the process. Now that it was already here and if they become 3 months old then they are of no use so i asked CIC agent what should be done and they asked me to mail it to CPC Mississauga!
Ok someone on this forum from first batch sent their pcc seperately which was issued in nov 2011 and he/she sent in jan2012 but it was returned back to that person by cic.....because they say that pcc's issuing date should not be older then 3months when it reaches in mississauga...so if urs is 3 months old i m sure you will have to reapply dear

Congrats! I guess you are somewhere closer to the East coast, aren't you? (I am on the West coast so it takes longer for CIC mail to arrive).

Hopefully mine is on the way...(the status said it was sent April 12 but the agent on the phone said that it may or may not have actually been mailed...)

Well pari, mine is different as i sent originally on jan 23, asked to submit affidavits, and re-submitted docs on feb 23,2012.

So i guess jan 23 is still the date for me.
