*********Just my 2 cents for those whose medical is expiring soon**

Guys, My personal experience says that if your Medical is expiring soon , contact your MP and have them inquiry, for me there was only 2 week left for medical to expire, there was no change in GCMS, File wasn't touched at all , when i asked MP for the update , 2 days - everything done and asked if we will be able to fly within 2 week.

Good Luck :)

Hello Everybody,

Need some suggestion/guidance with this situation.

I have applied for my parents PR in July 2009 with two dependents, file is currently in LVO (ISB) and last update was that of medical received (medicals were completed at end of March 2013) so it will be expiring in this March.

One of the dependent (my brother) is currently pursuing M.Phil (business/finance/human resources) which is ending in Feb. My understanding is, in order to be eligible for PR dependent needs to be full time student. When i talked to my brother he told me that he have inquired about PHD as possible next step but have problems as follows:

1. Most of the universities offering PHD requires thesis completed at M.Phil but my brother didn't had that.
2. Even if he is able to get into PHD somehow that is offered over the weekend or limited classes (as is the case with probably with any PHD). Does this qualify for being full time studies.

Can somebody advise what are the possible options for him to be eligible for PR? My brother was little less than 21 years at time of original application.

Much appreciated.

As long as he remains single(unmarried) and lives with his parents, it should be ok.
Age is locked-in on the date CPC-M received the application.

If CHC-Islamabad objects, indicate to them that age is locked-in. If they refuse, get an attorney and take them to court.
Since he had his medicals done, i think he is ok.

Send a fax inquiry to CHC and indicate medicals are close to expiry....

1.We received your application for permanent residence on Mar 3, 2009.

2.We started processing your application on December 1, 2013.

3.Medical results have been received.

4.A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision. 24th Jan

5. Passport received on 31 Jan 2014

Your timeline is quite fast! Congratulations! :)

I know this question has been asked before but my brother sent a sponsorship for parents and yesterday he got laid off from work, can he apply for EI and still continue with the sponsporship? Thanks for anyone who replies.

2 dependents there are and I am one of them.
There are many 2007 applicants waiting while 2009 applicants are getting their visas already.
Ecas status is still medical received hasn't changed to in process yet.
Really frustrated right now.
And could you please share your full timeline.
