I am sending additional documents to CIC. However, I need your advice. Should I be choosing Islamabad or Ottawa for visa processing office? Which one you guys think will be faster? Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks

It depends on whether your parents are in Canada at the time of sending the application and also whether they have a valid one year stay in Canada to be able to choose Ottawa processing centre.

I wish they could get rid of the backlog the soonest...but I guess that's just a wish.

friend of mine, his in-laws got CPP-O, office and everything was done in a year, they are from Bangladesh.

And in my case I chose CPP-O, and when the approval letter came, said was sent to SGVO based on applican's country of origin, at that time my mom was in USA.

so it really depends, my friend asked one of the CIC rep. they said, they choose it randomly.

Is your mom planning to go back to her country within next 2 years? If no, choose Ottawa.

There should be some reason why. Dependends, work for the government, presence in Canada... with the CIC, I guess, we can never be sure.

No she is not planning to go back. She might go for visit, but she will be staying with me. So, I will choose Ottawa then. If its quicker thats what we want.

Thanks everyone for your help

timeline for application process!!!!!

I sponsored my parents and they submitted everything including passport, pcc, medical etc in end of may 2013. I asked through my local MP office about the latest status of our application in visa office New Delhi. They said officer have to review the file in october. Can anyone have an idea how far our case is to get visa? When can we expect stamps on our passport?
I really appreciate the coments.

Had medical done in jan 2012 and again in jan 2013. Sent pcc twice, the latest one in april/may 2013.
Passports were submitted before. Now they have to review our file in october. So what can i expect and when?

Hey guys,

My brother sponsored my father in May 2008 and I was the accompanying dependent. We were requested for police clearance, passport and medicals which were completed and sent before 02nd august 2013. The online status now says that the medicals have been received (but that would only be for my father as his was an e-medical and my mom and I were paper medical, so I have no clue of our medical status). Is there anyone with a similar time frame?

I have to soon due to visa expiry (before Jan 2014) travel back to India from London and I plan to call back my passport in December. Has anyone called back the passport before? Would they be returning back only my passport? Also is it gonna cancel my application or only delay it further?

Confused :-\

just wondering I see on many people mention their PPR request separate from their medicals. For my parents they requested PPR and Medical at same time. what is the difference?
