There is a significant backlog of applications and processing times are around 3 years these days but could get longer. Would suggest not focusing on trying to monitor applications this closely because there will be very long periods of time when nothing changes. You were just asking about medicals. You are going to drive yourself insane if you try to monitor applications so closely knowing that processing is very slow and the majority of the processing time is waiting in line for your turn over and over again.

I read a post that someone who submitted their application in first week of Aug 2025 received pre arrival letter in GCKey So it sounds like things are moving- slowly but surely.

I don’t see anyone updated anything to excel tracker yet.

My parents have received Biometric Instruction Letter for their PGP2025 application. However, their biometrics are still valid until 2031, as they were completed during their Super Visa application. The biometric validity is also showing in the GCKey portal under their PGP application. Is it mandatory for them to provide biometrics again for the PGP application, or should we raise a webform to inform IRCC that their biometrics are still valid?
Has anyone experienced a similar situation with their PGP application?

I was in the same situation. I contacted CIC and they said the biometrics are tied to each application so they can't use the one done for Super Visa. I had to re-do it and it's been updated on the portal that biometrics is complete. You should do the same asap.

Got biometrics request for my mom today. But not my dad who is the principal applicant while mom is a dependant. The request letter only mentions her name. Is that normal? I remember we paid biometric fee for both.

Hi, I was asked to provide the additional requested document last week, as I uploaded the document through the View submitted application or upload document page in the GCKey, I did not get any confirmation email after that, I am pretty sure I reached to the page where I put the name of applicant and security question and click the transmit. However, I did not see the so called Congratulation page, when i sign back in the check the page View submitted application or upload document page, I saw the detail column as this Replacement Provided Uploaded Filename: XXXX and the placeholder for upload document and required date are all disappeared. Did I submit my ADR successfully?

Anyone still cant link their parents GCKey to the application? Ive been exhausting the tries

Based on current trends for 2025 applicants, pre-arrivals are coming out first, followed by medical requests about a week later. Hopefully, you get yours soon!

Pre-arrival can come at any time after eligibility and if anything you want a medical to be requested at a later date in the hopes you won’t have to repeat one again. Realistically most will have to complete a second medical. Processing for PGP is often multiple years and there is still a backlog of applications so there will be long periods of time where there is no movement of the application and that is normal. Even if it takes years to process getting selected for PGP is still winning the lottery.

PGP2025 application

My Father received a medical request letter today - 20 Oct 2026.

His biometrics happened in March 2026.

What stage of the application are we at? Its so confusing the IRCC portal shows 27 months... but things seem to be moving :).

Just wanted to understand the steps and where we are at in the process.

This could be his first medical. It is not uncommon to have to repeat a medical right before landing. For seniors having to do a medical early on in the process leaves time to request additional testing or for TB testing which takes many months. You are still very early on in processing and background checks is typically the longest part of processing. In most cases it is not the background checks that take a long time it is the wait in a queue to have your background check done which takes a long time. Whether there is a change in PGP quota for 2027 will also influence processing time. The levels plan for immigration will be announced within the next month. Would plan for processing to take around 3 years but celebrate if he gets PR in less than 3 years. Would prepare that there may be no movement in his file for over a year at times. Remember that he is lucky that he has had the opportunity to apply for PGP no matter how long processing may take. There are hundreds of thousands of other applicants who would like to be in your father’s position.
