I got it done from India.

Step-by-step process my parents followed in India

  1. Created an account on the Passport Seva portal under my mother’s name using: https://www.passportindia.gov.in/psp/ApplyPCC
  2. Filled out the online PCC application for both the primary applicant and the dependent.
  3. Paid the fee of ₹500 per applicant online.
  4. Visited the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) at the scheduled appointment time with the original passport, Aadhaar card, and appointment confirmation.
  5. Application was accepted, and I received an acknowledgment receipt with a tracking number.
  6. Local police verification was done—constable visited our home, took signatures, photos, and thumb impressions.
  7. Received the PCC certificate by email within 2–3 days after police verification.

Hope it helps. Pls let me know if you need any additional details
Hello
For my parents the verification was done last week. On the status it says will dispatch the PCC once verification is done.
Will we get it through email or mail.?

@sribrosrs : the letter does not stop us to do both. It just tells us both modes and also the fact that email does it faster processing.

This is what was in the email I received:
You may submit the required documents either electronically or via e-mail. Please only submit
via one method as duplicate copies are not necessary and will slow down processing of

incoming documents.

Yes they write that and then below gave both methods stating email is faster method. I did one first email and then two days later uploaded via webform which they acked same day. Better be safe than sorry given the overall experience so far

Hi. I submitted my mother's application on Sept 18, 2025. Till today it is just showing as submitted and I haven't received anything after that. Is it normal and how long is the wait for application number?

So you ignored the clear directions not to do this…

It does not state one method only, it states may etc to avoid delays, there is a nuanced difference. If an applicant sees that they are ignoring submissions, the best is to do both. Hope this clarifies. I am ok to take delays but not rejection
