I have not received P1/P2 requests either... I wrote to IRCC and they confirmed in an email that my application has been "approved." This was last week. Still crickets :(
Hi how you contacted IRCC, please share the contact email or method if possible

Hi, my parents applied for PGP in Aug 24, medical request was received and completed in March 25 which is valid till March 26. However I got another request today for new medical test for my parents since there is not sufficient time till March 26 to decide on application. Is this normal as there is still more than 4 months validity? Can I request IRCC to see if current medical test can still be used as I dont want parents to through medical test process again?
Please advise.

Hi Everyone,

My mom's here on supervisa and was planning to return in Feb 2026. However, today we got an email request for PCC.

Police Certificate: The principal applicant and their dependent family member (if applicable) must provide police certificates from:
• Their current country of residence if they have resided there for 6 months or more, and
• The country where they have spent most of their adult life since the age of 18 (if different than current country of residence).

As per the above guidance - does this mean that she will need to PCC both from India and Canada?

Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

My parents just got the letter from Immigration saying application is processing and its a pre-arrival letter and if need any help on some items to get settled down in Canada. Doesn't seem anything required my end it seems. Medical is not done yet so anyone knows whats the next step. As per my knowledge only Medical exam that haven't requested yet so hoping they will ask for it as next steps. Thoughts? My timeline in my signature. Applicant for PGP-2024.

Also co-sponsor my my in-laws who got the invitation in 2025. :) Seems in-laws application is moving faster as already asked for police clearance, passport already which for my parents they asked after 1 year of application.

Canada slowed or stopped issuing PR for this year. It’s probably to not exceed the PR qouta numbers for 2025. Hopefully your parents application will get revived/PR approved next year. This is the only explanation I can come up with after looking at all sources.

I have a question please answer me thank you.

My mother is principal applicant. My youngest sibling is her dependent and her grand child (my youngest sibling’s child) when i submitted the application she is 20 yrs old and the baby was months old she is not married and accidentally get pregnant. My mother is giving her financial support since then.
I submitted my application july 20 2024
And the latest update was medical passed sept 16 2025.
So the question is there anything to worry about our application.
Or how many percentage will we get approved for pr???

Thank you for answering.

Did IRCC aware of the baby? Did the baby included in the application? Is your sister in a common law relationship with the baby's father?

Pre-arrival letter just a procedural step. Typically more useful for those without family in Canada and outside of Canada. They don’t need to access services. You and your spouse both essentially won the lottery by being able to sponsor your parents while many will never be able to. Whether it gets processed within a year or it takes multiple years is an inconvenience but many would love to be in your position.
