My parents’ passports were renewed after I submitted the 2020 Interest to Sponsor form. I do not recall whether I included their passport details in that submission. If anyone has a copy of the 2020 Interest to Sponsor form, it would greatly help me clarify this matter.

It’s not an issue so don’t worry about it.

When in July 20024 did you submit? Can you please share? I have a July 21 submission and am yet to receive pre arrival letter.

There is a wide range of processing times from around to 1 year and outlier around 3 years. Processing is not chronological there are many factors that determine processing speed. If anything H&C involved hard to predict a timeline.

when did you apply ? our file is also in Mississauga. See my timeline for reference below in signature. My parents has already received PPR

Your timeline is not necessarily representative of many others even if they are processed through Mississauga. Please don’t make people worried because their processing is slower which is still normal and they may still have quite a long time until their family gets PR. Applications are not processed on a chronological basis.

wut!is it only 2024 applicants or also including PGP from pervious years ?

Sorry it was actually 24.5k people for this year, 21.5k people for 2026 and 20k people for 2027. Although targets can be revised before 2027. Can’t see targets increasing anytime soon. This is why some of the people in 2024 draw will not land until 2026 and more complex cases later than that probably.

Take the 2025 figure of 24.5k, for example — does that include applications submitted in years other than 2024, or is it limited to those submitted during 2024 only? I read through the link, but 24.5k total applications across all PGPs still feels incredibly low to me~

A lot of the 24.5k people approved in 2025 will be from backlogs from applications from PGP2022-24. Many approved 2026 will involve applicants from PGP2023-2025. There is always a backlog of applications. Even 20k is actually very generous considering huge backlogs in other programs and no pathway to PR for many younger people. Most seniors getting PR under PGP will never contribute to the tax base in Canada, they actually receive payments from the gvt yet have never paid into the system and they use a lot of services. We can’t care for the existing seniors, most who have worked a large portion of their lives in Canada and paid taxes, yet we are adding more seniors. Also have a few million people in Canada without access to primary care, huge capacity issues in hospitals and LTC, etc. so even 20k a year has a significant impact especially in some regions.

You will need to give Biometrics again. The ones for PR cannot reuse the ones from Visitor visa. For linking your application, what is the total number of family members that you are using?
I think we don't need bio metrics are valid across application, I was able to link now the PR application and can see it picked up bio metrics for visitor visa and showing not needed.
so probably no need to enroll bio metrics.

That status will change in due course and you will be asked to provide biometrics.

Bio-metrics provided for any TRV (visitor or work) visas are not valid for PR applications. You will be asked to provide bio-metrics again for PR application

why, her father won't be applying for PR and will NOT be accompanying either.
It's really clear that IRCC request medical, police and medical for all family members regardless of being accompanying or not.
It's because later on the PA can sponsor those AFTER he/she received PR. So everyone (spouse/partner/dependents) have to pass checks to become PR regardless if accompanying or not.

hi Everyone, In July got the biometrics request for parents and deadline was to complete by Aug03 which my parents did within 2 days. So wondering what's the next step after this as still nothing. They will ask for medical next right? What is the timeline they give for landing in this case like within 6months or 1 year you need to land in Canada or that varies?
