Hello everyone,

Last year, I applied to sponsor my in-laws under the Parents and Grandparents (PGP) stream

Now, I’ve received an invitation to apply for my own parents this year.

I have a family of 3 (including myself), and I’m a bit confused about the family size I should use to calculate the minimum income requirement for the years 2022, 2023, and 2024.

Any guidance would be appreciated! Thanks

So you are the co-signer for your in-laws under PGP 2024. (your spouse got the invite)
So now you need to have at least 3 (your family) + 2 (your in-laws assuming no children as dependent) + 2 your parents.
That's family income of 7 people. And which year you count 5 and which you count 7, I am not 100% sure.
IMO, it's safe if you have combined income that will support family of 7 all the years.

7 people, but to be safe, you'd better also meet 2021 requirements for 7 people (2024 PGP requirement) if your in-laws PR application is not complete yet

I have spoken with call center and they said that my in-laws became family member when I applied for them (2024). So I have to meet 5 people for 2022 & 2023 and 7 people for 2024.

I have an interesting update. My timeline so far is in my signature. One thing to note is that my parents have a visit visa and predominantly live in their home country (India). They were living in their home country throughout the application and did their biometrics, medical, etc in India. At this point I assume that the application is an "outland application".

While the application was is progress, my parents decided to visit (June 4 - July 30). We did not inform IRCC of any changes since this was a short visit, and my parents intended to return to India to complete the rest of their application - presumably PPR.

After I dropped them at the airport yesterday (July 30), I check my email casually - and guess what! I get a Portal email (asking for height, eye colour etc). This email assumes that my parents are inland applicants and will confirm their PR using a portal. I was expecting a PPR.

How do I fix this situation?

Hi everyone, I urgently need advice.

My parents received their Passport Request (PPR) on July 9, 2025, under the Family Sponsorship program. They’re currently in Canada on a visitor visa, so I immediately submitted a webform to notify IRCC — once under “Update Information” and once under “General Enquiry.”

I’ve since called IRCC multiple times, but they keep saying they haven’t received any webforms. I submitted a third webform, this time attaching screenshots and confirmation numbers. Still, IRCC claims nothing has been received.

We now have only 6 days left in the 30-day window to submit the passports.

What should we do?
  • Should my parents travel back to India to submit their passports there?
  • Should I try submitting the webform a fourth time?
  • Any other suggestions?

Any help or guidance would be deeply appreciated — thank you so much.

Hello everyone. Hoping to get more info regarding this situation: If one parent has to do further tests after xray (to rule out PTB) — can someone who has been in the same situation give more details about what happens? Also, what about the 30-day deadline to complete the medicals, how can we comply if there are further tests and results don’t come back within 30 days? Appreciate any info you can share thank you!!
HI I have applied for supervisa and in same sitaution, principle applicant was futhered for medical sputum and xray and co applicant is my mother
Still waiting on sputum reports 8 week and thereafter xray is due on 30 Aug ..have applied for SV on 1st jUne..no update on portal..any progress on your side??

Hey all, I have submitted PCC, Medical reports and biometrics for my mother in March 2025. I have received the letter from IRCC in March 2025 stating "
You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for
Permanent Residence for your relative will be processed"

I have not heard since then when followed up with IRCC, its under review. Now, I am expecting a baby this Dec. Do I need to let IRCC know about this after my baby's birth? Will IRCC re-access my financials again?

Thanks,
Krs
I have the same timeline. I haven’t heard anything yet.
