A quick question guys !!!

Can I take a DD in US$ or C$ in my name as POF. I don't have a foreign currency account but will deposit the money in someone elses account and then get a DD made in my favor...

Can this be done?? any idea how long it will take the DD to get processed once I deposit it there??

I think opening your own bank account will not take much time, should be one day job. But 2-3 weeks for clearing the DD is too long. I heard it is required by most of land lords to show big money in your account for getting house on rent, as new people dont have a credit history

Someone bhai ,yes it will be OK,if the DD is made in Pak ,it can take about 2 to 3 weeks after depositing in Canadian Bank to be cashed.TD is more faster to get it done

Should I deposit into foreign currency account and then get DD made or just give directly to bank to make DD in my name?? (like we did for making RPRF fees)...not sure if second way can be done.. :-[

Whenever you go to bank to open an account , request them to issue you a credit card .At the moment you will get secured credit card of $1000 value but it will be helpful for you to start( create) your own credit rating which is most important in Canada.

I am from Karachi.

Today I went to Driving Licence place at Clifton, and got N.O.C.(No Objection Certificate) which cost me Rs.300/- and have also applied for International Driving Licence which will cost me around 1200 to 1500 and it will be valid for 1 years so I can drive in canada right away.

Just sharing information for everybody who are planning to move to canada soon.

Bhai please be sure to have all the info on your NOC like name,address,drving license number ,issue date and date of expiry etc ,otherwise your NOC didnt work here and then you have to go to Pak embassy to get a certificate ,which will cost you $20 to $40

Does it require to mention that this person is driving for so many years and accident record or anything else

Actually its an authentication letter issued by driving licencing authority in Clifton for your drivers license which must include all the info on you DL ,it does not have the accident record.For accident record you have to get other letter issued by your insurance company

Medical done : 5th March, 2012.
Medical Received in LVO: 21st March, 2012.
RPRF fee cashed by CHC: 5th April, 2012.

PPR1: ????????
PPR2: ????????????
DM: ??????????????

This waiting thing is really having a heavy toll on me and grinding me like hell.....
