HI there, I am about to send my application in for Family Sponsorship along with my Open Work Permit application. My question is, do I need to write a note on the application saying I would like to apply for an Open Work Permit while waiting for my decision on family sponsorship? Or do I just send both applications together in 1 package? Thanks!

I didn't include a separate specific note about applying for the OWP but I too was unsure whether this was ok or not. I sent the OWP with the PR application package in the order they suggest. I'm assuming that it's self evident as well as "ticking the box" on one of the forms that we are also submitting an OWP at the same time. Sent application over 21 days ago and it hasn't been returned yet so i'm hoping it's ok.
Maybe another more experienced forum member can add an answer here?
Correct. You don't need to submit the OWP barcode page twice. Just an added note, once the office gets your application package they separate the OWP application from your PR application. So keep this in mind and make sure that you organize everything the OWP needs for itself. This is something I recently learned on this forum. So in the OWP checklist and instructions it says to include copies of Passport, marriage cert, etc. Include these supporting docs under the OWP forms/receipt (even though they are also already included in the PR application).
Also don't forget to pay for and include receipts for not only the Workers Permit but also the OWP holder fee. I believe your total should be $255.
