Hi there, My wife received a offer letter from a Canadian University. Now we are planing to apply visa togather, study permit for her and OWP for me. Is it necessary for me to take IELTS? I am a software Engg and I am working for a Canadian start up company for last 3 years remotely from my country. I have a contract paper where it is mentioned that I will work for them as an employee and it will expire after 2 years from now. I also have all the salary statements. Should I send these documents to visa office?
thank you

You don't need IELTS. I wouldn't include the work contract. Unfortunately working abroad for a small Canadian company is a drawback for your wife's application. It will be viewed that your wife is coming to study as a way for you to come work for the company and then immigrate. That may be what you are doing. What is most important is to show that your wife is a true student and that her degree will allow for more career opportunities and that you can support yourselves while you are in Canada.

Wanted add that you may need ielts for PR so you should look into how you plan to get PR as a family.
