overtime in Alberta

Discussion in 'Canadian Labour Legislation' started by hadasp, Jul 7, 2018.

  1. Hello,

I've started a new job as a barista en Alberta. After 5 years working as a housekeeper and get the overtime hours paid as 1.5 hours, in the new job they paid the overtime hours just as a regular hours. Is this legal? I want to know about that before talk with the boss

    Thanks

  3. I already read this and I understand that I should get paid for the overtime but here in the rocky mountains any servers get paid for the overtime, I don't understand why, I asked some other servers and they told me that the business can choose if they want to pay overtime or just as a regular hour and I want to know where is the exception
    Thanks
