Hi all, my boyfriend lives in Canada and is a citizen and we met through families and started talking 2 months ago. We want to apply for my PR under spousal sponsorship since visitor visa is difficult nowadays. So when he visits India this year, we might get an official function and do court marriage to start my visa process. I am trying to understand what all is usually required to make it a strong case. My to-be husband is a citizen and work with a bank. My sister and brother also live in Canada.

Thank you in advance.

If an arranged marriage with minimal time in person or dating you should have your real wedding if you plan on having one. If doing a court wedding I would suggest more in person visits before getting married and be prepared to announce to family and friends on things like social media that you are married. No matter how simple I would suggest a reception after the court wedding. It could be a lunch at a restaurant, a backyard bbq with close friends and family, etc. and make sure to take photographs.
