Outland Spousal Sponsorship – June 2026 Applicant Still Waiting for AOR

Hi everyone,


My wife is a Canadian Permanent Resident and I am a New Zealand Permanent Resident currently living in New Zealand.


My wife sponsored me under Outland Spousal Sponsorship, and our application was submitted on June 17, 2026.


As of now, we still haven’t received our AOR.


I have two questions:

1. AOR timeline:
   Has anyone who applied in May, June or July 2026 received their AOR? Please share your application date, AOR date and country. Applicants from any country are welcome to share their timeline.
2. Sponsor staying with me in New Zealand:
   If the PR application takes a long time, my wife is considering coming to New Zealand to stay with me for a few months while our application is processing. She is a Canadian PR, not a Canadian citizen.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Can a Canadian PR sponsor stay outside Canada with their spouse for a few months while an outland application is processing, or could this affect the sponsorship?


Once my PR is approved, our plan is to move to Canada together.


Any recent experiences would be really helpful.

AOR can take up to 6 months. She needs to stay in Canada during processing or risks having your application cancelled. She can come for a short visit - one to two weeks. Anything longer may flag your file.
