Outland applicant - sent outdated form IMM1344, what can I do?

Common Law application was sent 2 weeks ago, mid-October. received Oct 15th. We started the application process back in August and as such, I've just learned the "IMM1344 Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking" form I submitted was the outdated one. (2013) the latest version was created/updated to August 2014.

Now that I've noticed our error, I would like to mail that one form into CIC but I don't know how to match that form with my application that is currently in the queue. I imagine it won't be considered until end of November and I'm seriously worried they will mail back the full application to us here in the UK. Despite the fact that every detail relevant to me is in the original form.

Any way of pre-empting the need for the new form? Can I contact CIC Call Centre despite being outside of Canada and not having a reference number yet? I thought they could pair it up with my Receipt fee perhaps. My application has not yet come back to the UK so seems illogical to contact the High Commission in London.

Any help/past experience is welcome. Thanks

From my personal experience, this might delay the process by a few more days ~ 30-45 days. I would advice you and your partner to keep the updated documents ready along with the signatures etc. We received an email from CIC asking us to send the updated forms within 45 days of notice.

You may send the forms once they ask for it.

Calling might not help as the agents will not have any updates for you, till your SA is over.

Thanks so much. You're right, I don't see anywhere that I can call and talk to a real person. They do list that you can mail in changes to your application however, I'm going to keep looking and seeing if there I can send that info in advance of them asking for it.

Did they send you the full application back or did they simply ask you to forward the updated form?

They did not return our application, they asked for couple of updated forms. The details of the form remain the same, however they had changed the version numbers of the forms online.

You won't be able to send the updated form until they open your application and they allocate you a reference number as they won't be able to match the new form to your application. Some people have received emails while others have had the entire application sent back to them, hoepfully you will just get an email. As mentioned this will delay your application for a few weeks but unfortunately its just one of those things!

Thanks to both of you as distressing as the news is. I'm assuming then, that when they ask for me to send the new doc and whatever else they may require from me, I will at that point be issued some kind of reference number to track and match my application to anything I start mailing in from now on?

yes, if you receive a request for an updated form or new information, the request will have the file number listed, possibly the sponsor's UCI #, and provide instructions how to properly send it to where it needs to be sent.
