This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:

Please provide a certified Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) criminal clearance based on fingerprints. Follow the instructions at http://www.rcmp-grc.ca/cr-cj/fing-empr2-eng.htm.

Do not submit fingerprints that have not been processed by the RCMP as this will cause a delay in the processing of your application.

Please note:

All documents must be accompanied by English or French translations. When original documents are requested, notarised documents are not acceptable.

The above information/documents must be received in our office within 60 days from the date of this letter. Please quote your complete application number on your correspondence and address your correspondence to the address indicated below.

Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.

The fingerprints will be done in one day, just express post them to the address they gave you and it should be done in the time allowed.

I don't think they will accept a fax or e-mail as they will want the original RCMP report... just as people on this forum have been having problems using the chandler's because they are not original.... I can understand your anxiety... when my husband had his RCMP report done to get his pardon he went in had his prints done and had the report by the end of the week, of course each station can have different procedures. main thing is breathe get the prints and send it asap...

Odd, I thought RCMP provided the results directly to the visa office: http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/fing-empr2-eng.htm

But if they want a letter, it has to be an original. I'm assuming it comes on some sort of tamper-resistant paper (like the US FBI clearance letter does) to prevent counterfeiting.

After my husband gets his fingerprints done, don't we have to send it to the RCMP first and then mailed back to us, then send to the immigration address provided? cause it says you can't mail it to them until certified by RCMP. That is the part I don't understand.

After your husband got his RCMP report done, how did he get it back in a week? did they mail it back to him and then he sent it to the immigration address provided? I am just afraid 60 days will not be sufficient.

I wish they would send it to the visa office for us...I guess I will find out this week when he gets his fingerprints done...just so anxious about this now.
