Done with the Oath today. ~35 participants in the session. Requested for urgent processing of the certificate as I booked my international travel long before the oath invite. I hope I get approved for the urgent certificate processing.

35  They should host at least a 100 from all over the country in each session.

Zoom showed 35 participants but some participants had entire family participating. But hearing about ~100 participants in previous oath sessions, 35 is significantly low.

Guys,

How long did it take you to receive your citizenship certificate after the Oath? I requested for urgent processing for the certificate and emailed them a proof of travel. Its been 48 hours now and no response to my email and the application status still shows In Progress.

Also, on the day of the ceremony, Nov 10, we were all asked to sign the Oath form at the same time on the larger breakout virtual room, no separate rooms for the Oath form signing. Was it the same for you?

4 weeks, still waiting for certificate....

Wow! Has your application status changed to closed? Did you request of expedited certificate?
Yes, status of application is closed, I didn't request expedited service, but still don't understand why it takes so long to print and put certificate in envelope.

The official said there is an option to pick up the certificate but you have to send us an email with your proof of urgency and you have to wait to be approved. I sent the email with the proof. Nothing yet.

I attended my oath on October 27th. Ottawa office. Agent is JT (they asked to send email with subject JT).

Until today, no update in the tracker. still shows in Progress. It’s been 21 days now.

No citizenship certificate received yet.

Anyone from Ottawa processing office had oath in October? I am wondering if this Ottawa office problem, or the “damn” officer named JT who is the slowest officer in the slowest IRCC office.

I thought I’m done with IRCC the moment I got the oath date. But looks like the struggle is never ending.

Any new test invites reported from Ottawa office for 2020 applicants? Or Ottawa is too bougie to work in fall?

no test invite for me, March 2020 applicant.
If only IRCC officers got paid based on how many files they close, then we would see some real work done. Now they are simply complacent as they know the tax payers money will be credited into their bank accounts as salary.
