Hi,

After looking everywhere for an answer I found this forum and think it's great to find answers and people with similiar issues. :)

I submitted an application to sponsor my husband within Canada in July 2015 and we submitted the OPW application with it. We have been waiting for the OPW as we really don't know how the process is. Today we received an email that says"...Please note that the responsible office has returned the entire application with a letter of explanation to your address.
Please wait to receive the application along with the explanation letter for further details..."

Does anyone know if this means that the OPW has been denied? Thank you.

It might be worse than that...

Does your husband still have legal status in Canada (not including the Implied Status that he may have had because of the Inland application and OWP that was submitted last July)?

He's in Canada as a visitor. We both received a letter with the application # and UCI #. And we thought we just had to wait for the OPW.

So his still has legal visitor status? If so, that's good. How much longer does he have?

If you can get the application and OWP returned to CIC (when you find out what the problem was), before his status expires...you'll be ok.

Thanks! We are going to wait and see what happened. Although we think it is only his OWP application that got sent back. We got that reply when we emailed CIC asking about it.

That would be good, but it could also impact his Implied Status that would have kicked in automatically when his visitor status expires.

When does his true, legal status expire?
