My wife got rejection in her previous application. She applied with my study permit but they denied her TRV. In the previous application she wanted to visit Canada the whole study period of me (2 years). Now she wants to reapply for TRV. For getting a successful TRV she is confused about her period of staying in Canada. Which would be best for her? 2 year staying period as of my study permit or a small visit of 3 months?

To be approved for a TRV she must show she has strong ties to her home country. It's difficult to show strong ties if you're asking for a long trip. I would recommend she apply for a three week trip since this is a reasonable amount of time an employer might let someone go on holidays. She could also try applying for an open work permit based on your study permit.
