Yesterday I spoken to Lady in RBC to open Bank account while in UK .

She email me all forms and told me that I can open account and deposit money , they will give us Letter for POF deposit , but to use/ withdraw that funds i need to step into RBC canadian branch with my passport.

Looks good , as transferring money to RBC canada account via money crop is free using UK account and they given me rate same as bank (without any fee).

Also lady told me that they will giving me and my wife CC for $ 1000 each .

Do any othey bank also open Canadian account before we Land .

Try CIBC, TD Bank, BMO, Credit Union Bank, Scotiabank.

In June, RBC will be increasing fees for some of their services. Their credit card interest rates will go from 19.99% to 21.99%. Most other banks are still at 19.99%. This is a good time to compare rates/fees at different banks and try to save as much money as you can. For example, if you find another bank that offers cheaper monthly bank fee or it's free, when you open your account with RBC, you can tell them about it and ask if they would offer that rate to you if you decided to stay with them. If you don't ask they won't offer. :D

Hi,
I'm from the US. I'm looking into opening one at CIBC (my boyfriend has an account there). Any tips? I obviously don't have a SIN. Any stories?
