open work visa for international students before graduating

I was wondering if it's possible to get Open Work Visa for students who are still not graduated.

your feedback is highly appreciated.

u mean study permit right? because OWP is not for a student, is for another person who came to Canada with u (ex: wife)

student permit allows u to work 20hrs per week and full-time during breaks

It depends on your study permit application and nationality. I mean, when you apply the study permit(in Canada, not outside of Canada), you may see the work permit question. At that moment, you can apply an open work permit, but open work visa. I hope, you understand my point.

so what I meant was open work permit, for international student who is already here on Study Permit and she is Chinese nationality.

No - she certainly does not qualify for an open work permit.

Assuming she is attending a qualified school and her program is at least 8 months long, she will qualify for a post graduate work permit once she successfully completes her studies and graduates.

They would need to meet some kind of very specific requirement like:

1) They have a spouse who is in Canada on a work permit as a foreign worker and who has a full time skilled or semi-skilled job
2) They have a spouse who is a Canadian citizen or PR and who has sponsored them for PR using the inland application process

If this person is simply a student in Canada and they are single - they don't qualify under any exception.

It depends on her study permit application. Did she mention applying an open work permit when she submit her study permit application? When i filled out a study permit application, they also asked to apply a work permit or not. I selected an open work permit for the study permit application. In addition, i dont need a TRV when I apply a study permit. I came to Canada without lmia, but I received an open work permit. In the same way, some students can get an open work permit.
