Open work permit while having already post grad work permit?

Hi Everyone,

i am in the final document prep for my spousal application. I live in Toronto( Canadian Citizen) and I am sponsoring my wife who lives here (Brazilian) under her post grad work permit. Her permit ends 2020 end of september. in a week i will be sending my file as inland. My question is:

as i know we have the right to apply for open work permit, should i apply at the beginning ? or wait maybe when its coming closer to her post grad work permit expiring since there is a good 10 months remaining?

I would wait. It is possible that the PR app may be done by then and the OWP wouldn't even be needed.
