My partner, which I'm sponsoring and which recently got an open work permit, and I (i'm canadian) would like to go on vacation together for 3 weeks outside canada. Would there be a problem re-entering Canada?
An open work permit doesn't guarantee re-entry into Canada. Whether your partner is allowed back into Canada or not will be up to the immigration officer you encounter at the border. And there's always some chance re-entry may be refused. If re-entry is refused this will effectively cancel the inland sponsorship application - this is why it's strongly recommended to remain in Canada for the entire processing time of the application and avoid travel out of the country.
