I have an open post-graduation work permit, that will expire in November 2021. I was wondering if I am eligible to apply for an Open work permit under public policy.

Depends on what date in November 2021.

What exact date does your PGWP expire?

Then yes, you qualify. However you have to wait until your PGWP is within four months of expiring before you can submit the application.

i don't think so you have to. my friend applied without giving the medical exam.

if you are applying for PR then yes you will need to. But for a work permit, I don't think you have to!

I already applied for the PR back in Jan 2020. I did my medicals in Dec 2019 for that. Right now I am planning to apply for an open work permit under a public policy as my work permit is being expired soon.. That's why I was wondering if I needed to undergo new one
