Open work permit - still no answer

Hello,

I applied for OWP on 28 March 2020. Due to COVID-19, I gave my biometrics on 19 of May 2020.

The processing time was 10 weeks. I still haven't received any news although the waiting time is over.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation? I know because of COVID-19 things are taking a longer time to complete, but were there any situations where the deadline was completed and there was no news?

You are certainly not alone. I submitted my application on the same date, but I did not submit my biometrics until Jul 13 due to COVID-19. I am still waiting for my decision. Have you got anything like a biometric correspondence letter or has review of eligibility started for you?

You could use the web form to ask them about your application. But be prepared for them to give you generic answers.

I did get the correspondence letter and the eligibility started immediately after I submitted my biometrics. Its been pretty much silent for the last two months

edit: Sorry I didn't get correspondence letter yet, just that my eligibility is under review

same i applied my BOWP last january 16 2020 under my PNP PR application until now no news yet

Same for me. Some people got their correspondence letter right after biometrics. Normally, people hear about a decision soon after a correspondence letter. Now, it could be very different. I don’t know where you are applying from, but for example in the U.S. the Canadian consulate in New York lists their visa office’s email. Maybe you can try to email them if they provide it in your location? Best of luck.
