[Open Work Permit] Should i apply now with PR application?

I am about to send out my PR application as a common-law partner in Toronto, Canada. I heard that i can apply OWP now, so that upon the first stage approval(about in 6month) i could start to work with OWP.

But I was browsing through CIC website to look for OWP application, it looks like the sponsor has to be in their listed eligible occupation or something like that...? Im confused.

I am here as a visitor and my partner is a full time construction surveyor, CA citizen. Can i apply OWP now with my PR application at the same time?

If anyone who could share info about this, it would be really helpful.

I believe that you will submit both at the same time yes. I have read numerous posts on here in regards to that.

Hang on and someone with more experience will reply. I just wanted you to know that you will send them together.
