So! I need help...

I applied for RNIP and a work permit while I wait so I can keep working while my PR application is being processed. Looks like I made an error on my work permit and it has been refused, so I've lost my working status.

I'm planning to apply for restoration of status.

BUT I also have a 1 year working holiday visa granted to me that is yet to be activated. If I decided to leave Canada and then active this visa at a boarder, does anyone know if this would affect my PR application?

Struggling to find any info on this online. Thank you in advance

What permit were you on? Has your application been selected for PR?

Hi! Thanks for the reply. Yes, I received my community recommendation in Feb this year, and applied to IRCC the same month. I've been invited to do the medical/biometrics, so things are in progress

I was on an IEC working holiday visa that expired in July, so while I was applying for my RNIP one year work permit I was put in maintained status until I found out about refusal of this permit

There isn't going to be a defintive answer to this and this is why you cannot find anytihng online. Generally speaking, it's not a good ideal to flagpole while out of status in Canada. If you do, you may have absolutely no issues and the work permit may be easily granted or you could have problems. It's impossible for any of us to say.

Okay! Thank you so much for the advice

Think the issue is mainly related to your attempt to extend the IEC like other WPs. Different rules.

Hi! My IEC extension is separate. I am from the UK and last year we were granted a 3 years (1 year more than the original 2 years) so before I applied for PR I went and got my extra year permit.

I wanted to stay permanently, and during the process, I found out I was eligible to apply for PR through the RNIP. So decided to take that pathway and was advised to apply for the RNIP work permit while I waited for my outcome, this is the one that's been refused. Not my IEC visa.

I was hoping if I leave and come back to Canada I could activate the IEC while I wait so I can work. But I've also been told not to leave Canada as it may affect my PR application! Very confusing

The rules for WP extensions are not the same for IEC and other WP
