Hello,

quick question about the open work permit. We received an email from cic stating the owp has been approved and being sent in the mail......do we have to apply for a SIN or does one come with the owp?

You have to apply for it via Service Canada.

You will need to wait to have the work permit in hand before Service Canada issue a SIN. You will not receive one with the OWP no.

hi canadasnk. may i know when did you apply for open work permit and family sponsorship? because i applied mine last December 2017 from inside canada on paper and i am wondering how long would it take to be approved. but i already received an email that they received the sponsorship application but didnt mention about the open work permit. thank you
